Here are the bunch of cards I designed based on last week’s episode entitled ‘Still There’ and the title has so many meanings, don’t you think? The grief Kevin feels for the loss of his father and his broken dreams of becoming a football player are ‘still there’. We learn in this episode that Rebecca has felt racist undertones from her mother since childhood, and they were evidently ‘still there’. It was so interesting to watch Rebecca call her on it (and then try to explain it to young Randall). …and of course Kate’s line at the end: “So, is it still there?” Ahhhh!

I must admit, I had a hard time choosing designs for this episode. There wasn’t any one particular scene or image that stuck out like in the last few episodes, and no extremely memorable quotes. I decided to do an ‘episode roll call’ card (at least that’s what I called it in Photoshop) where I roll called in a list all the major key moments.
HAIR was a big one, and I like that it became the biggest, boldest word on the card. I also liked ‘Alicia Keys Cool’ and how Deja didn’t appreciate the reference…haa haa! Randall, you were about 10 years late on that one. 😉
Here’s how this bunch looks in my album, all filled out digitally. The pharmacy card might have been a bit of a stretch, but it was a scene that tied into that surprise ending, and another ploy to get us to think Kate was going to purchase weight loss supplies, not the vitamins. It worked, and I wanted to record it.
I am four episodes into to this season’s worth of #ThisIsUsprintables, and I must say they are shaping up to be a likable bunch, great design practice, and a weekly reminder to execute. Just execute and move along. // Thanks for tuning in and letting me fan girl and share what I’ve been working on. // Happy watching tonight! xoxo!
