These monthly recent pins posts have become such a welcomed + interesting exercise. I first browse content recently pinned to my Pinterest account. Then I pick a few that jump out or I particularly love. Next, I group nine of those together based on what goes with what and coordinates well enough to make a final collaged image I’m obsessed with.
But then when I go to post it – and really get a good look at them collectively – THAT’S when the real magic happens for me. I start to sense themes. I start to see what’s been resonating with me below the surface. Sure, the colors and the content are obvious, but it’s the themes I see intertwined – that I didn’t notice when choosing or grouping – that strike me the most.
Some themes I see: Lines. Lining things up. Circles. Things peeking out from behind something else. Layers. Overlap. Femininity. Lone females. Repetition. Freshness. Slate. Soft drop shadow. Searching. Down time.
