OMG, you guys! Please allow me to introduce you to Crafty Ass Female: an audio show that talks about the resourceful ways we women are living our lives, and the crafty projects we create in between. The podcast is now live & available for your consumption, and YES: there is a cute little booty in its logo.
I am one of your hosts alongside the kickass creative that is Kristin Tweedale. She & I met at a scrappy book-making workshop in NYC that we both attended in June 2012. Since then (and thanks to social media) we’ve been following along w/ each other’s creative journey, both personally & professionally.
In the Summer of 2017, Kristin reached out to me in the sweetest way imaginable & the idea to start a podcast was born – a podcast meant to explore what it means to be a crafty ass female in the world today, and encourage, support, + cheer on each one of you that identify as such.
No big company backing. No fancy equipment. No specialized team of talent. Just two crafty ‘every girls’ wanting to ignite creative conversations & remind listeners (and ourselves) that it’s okay to not have it all figured out. HOLLA! I. NEED. THIS. CREATIVE . CONVERSATION, plain and simple, and we’re excited to see where we can take this medium.
To kick off today’s launch Kristin & I have prepared three introductory episodes. EP. 01 is a quick intro to the podcast talking about how the podcast came to be and what we hope comes of it. You’ll get to know our voices as we share the inspiration behind the title + our thoughts on the booty-ful logo. Haa haa!
My episode ended up being pretty long – with a buttload of show notes and references – but it’s only because I wanted to fill you in on the important details + lessons I learned along the way, not just graze over them. Hopefully you’ll discover some nuggets of wisdom in my story – especially if you can relate to (1) relying too much on authority, (2) having a hard time with college, (3) thinking of a career change, or (4) achieving thee big scary goal you set for yourself only to feel like ‘this is it’? Been there. Done that. You can hear all about it in this episode.
Ladies, I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again — you are my people. This podcast excites me because I’m hoping we can connect more through this vehicle, and use it to learn from each other. Kristin & I were very adamant from the beginning that we wanted each episode to have a comments section so we could hear your feedback on the topics we present & your unique crafty ass female perspective. We hope you take advantage of this + run with it!
Our first non-introductory episode will air Monday and it’s all about the annual one little word® project – something Kristin & I have been participating in for years, and are excited to continue participating in come 2018. Stay tuned! // Thanks so much for your good vibes & support on this. See you over at craftyassfemale.com!
